Miami FC trounced by Toronto FC in preseason match


ORLANDO, Fla. -- Miami FC fell, 6-1, to MLS Cup finalist Toronto FC in a preseason match Wednesday.

Sebastian Giovinco scored twice as Toronto took a 3-0 halftime lead. Justin Morrow scored the opening goal on a rebound of a Jozy Altidore shot off the post. Miami came close to equalizing as Stefano Pinho hit the bar off an Aaron Dennis feed, Pokuís rebound attempt saved. Giovinco scored in the run of play and on a penalty kick following a Tyler Ruthven foul.

Vincenzo Rennella, Jaime Chavez and Ariel Martinez combined to threaten for Miami FC in the second half. Benoit Cheyrou, Aikim Andrews and Raheem Edwards gave Toronto a six-goal advantage before Robert Baggio Kcira cut the deficit, finishing a Chavez feed just before the final whistle.
