CALL THEM CAPTAINS
Pitchkolan, Kevan George selected by Armada
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Defender Aaron Pitchkolan has been named captain and Trinidad and Tobago national team midfielder Kevan George vice-captain for the Jacksonville Armada, the team announced Tuesday.
“Aaron and Kevan are true professionals,” Armada coach Mark Lowry said. “They are leaders every day, on and off the field. They are great examples of what being a pro is all about, and we are in a stronger position as a group by having them as captains.”
Pitchkolan, 33, played the last four seasons with Minnesota FC, captaining the team from 2013-15. Pitchkolan also has six years of MLS experience.
“I’ve been around and have seen the league grow, and right now the league is at the highest level it’s been,” Pitchkolan said . “I’ll bring some experience to the younger guys and will show them how it works during the professional season.”
George, who started 27 games in his first season for the Armada last year, played at the University of Central Florida and has earned 30 caps since making his international debut for Trinidad and Tobago in 2013.
