Florida freshman forward Savannah Jordan has been selected as the Sunshine Soccer News College Player of the Year.

The nominations included athletes playing at colleges within the site’s coverage area, as well as athletes from the area playing collegiately elsewhere in the country.

Jordan became the second consecutive Florida player to earn SEC Offensive Player of the Year honors since the honor was split between offensive and defensive players in 2005, and is only the second freshman in Gators history to be named an NSCAA All-American. The Fayetteville, Ga., native, who also earned Freshman of the Year honors, shared the SEC lead and tied for third nationally with 22 goals, including 12 in league play, and had seven multiple-goal games. She was a four-time Sunshine Soccer News Player of the Week (the only multiple winner) and also the Soccer News Net Player of the Week for Aug 25.
